The 3TJ1 has wings cast into the rear of the frame. They need to be removed as any attempt to change the seat and rear subframe will be futile with them in place.
It would be nice to just cut the whole thing off, but the rear shock mount is cast into the same section, so the plan was to remove as much as possible and weld standard type sub-frame mounts as needed. | The ends were cut off to be used later as the top sub-frame support. |
